Constructionline is the UK's register of pre-qualified local and national construction and construction-related suppliers.
The concept of a single national database was proposed by the 1994 Latham Report. Since then Constructionline has grown and been updated in line with the needs of modern procurement. The OGC Common Minimum Standards and The Local Government Task Force also recommend using Constructionline as part of the pre-qualification and tendering process
Constructionline is the UK's register of pre-qualified local and national construction and construction-related contractors and consultants. It is owned and endorsed by the DTI; Constructionline is a contributor to the Rethinking Construction initiative.
Constructionline gathers and assesses pre-qualification information on behalf of public and private sector procurers and provides them with access to over 12,500 fully accredited suppliers free of charge. In addition, it also helps contractors and consultants by reducing the need for them to fill-in pre-qualification forms for every tender and provides them with access to over 1,500 buyers.
Constructionline is a valuable tool and helps to develop an efficient procurement process.
The concept of a single national database was initially proposed by the 1994 Latham Report on construction industry modernisation and efficiency, 'Constructing the Team'. Since then Constructionline has grown and been updated to stay relevant to the needs of modern procurement.
Over 12,500 contractors and consultants, ranging from sole traders and small specialist firms to large multi-nationals, are registered with Constructionline. The 1,500 plus buyers across the UK range from large central government departments and agencies to Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Universities and NHS Trusts.
