Merton Priory – A new Lease of Life for Hidden Gem of History

We are very pleased to have been appointed by London Borough of Merton to complete works to the 12th Century Merton Priory Chapter House.

 

Merton Priory was one of the most important of all Augustinian foundations prior to its destruction in 1538 by Henry VIII.

 

The project aims to rejuvenate this fantastic scheduled monument with the excavated remains of the Chapter House of Merton Priory dating back to approximately c1117.

H A Marks Station Project featured in Railway Heritage Trust Report

A project completed by H A Marks at Bury St Edmunds Railway Station has received further recognition by being featured in the latest Annual Report by the Railway Heritage Trust. The reports notes that the appearance of the station following the works 'is much improved as a result' and acknowledges H A Marks roles as both Designer and Contractor for the project.

The Awards keep coming for the Tara Theatre !

We were very pleased to have been involved in helping realise this creative community project and even more so as it is now being recognised both in the UK and globally with a continually stream of accolades, the most recent of which includes winning in the 'Culture and Community' Category at the New London Architecture Awards as well as under the Culture category at the World Architecture Festival in Berlin!

 

Booking Hall regenerations at Liverpool St

H.A. Marks collaborative relationship with Stake ISP and London Underground continues as we are set to deliver Design and Build services as part of the Booking Hall regenerations at Liverpool St.

 

We understand the significant relationship between the high performance of built environments and the overall customer experience.

 

Our in house design team will work in hand with our client to provide an aesthetically pleasing, highly functioning phase of works which will be completed by our project delivery team.

H.A. Marks Appointed to Deliver further Council Housing

We are progressing Designs to deliver these new homes, in Balham, which will be built on a former garage site and will be offered to local people with a housing need at around half the open market rent.

 

We are delighted to partner up with Wandsworth Council to deliver these works on a Design and Build basis and look forward to a start on site and Breaking Ground in the coming months.

Holy Cross RC. Primary School

H.A Marks are delighted to announce that we have been appointed Principal Contractor on the Holy Cross RC Primary School Refurbishment for Hammersmith & Fulham.

Working with Project Managers Mott MacDonald, Architects Penoyre Prasad, This is a complex project to both reorganize and double the size of an existing school, and involves inserting a new school hall and classrooms into the heart of the school, on a small and very restricted site with a mixture of heritage and recent buildings, while the school continues to operate throughout.

Offering practical solutions ensures H A Marks meets client's strict requirements

Conway Hall was constructed at the beginning of the twentieth century as a hospital, it is now used as student accommodation for the University of Notre Dame. The Grade II listed building is located on the corner of Waterloo Road and Stamford Street and consists of a basement and six storeys.

H.A. Marks appointed as Principal Design & Build Contractor to build 5 Luxury Two Bedroom Flats in Weybridge

We are delighted to announce our appointment as Principal Design & Build Contractor to build 5 Luxury Two Bedroom Flats in Weybridge.

The scheme has been carefully designed to be in keeping with the existing development.

The scheme is due for completion later this year.

H.A. Marks selected by London Underground for stations modernisation plan

Following a major review by London Underground of their contracts procurement procedure, H.A. Marks are pleased to have been selected as one of the specialist contractors within a framework of 20 specialist rail contractors to be engaged by London Underground as part of their stations modernisation project.

As quoted in the Construction Enquirer, Programme director for stations, Miles Ashley, said: "Construction supply chains have become multi-tiered and fragmented, and it could be said that the industry has lost sight of the importance of craft skills in delivering efficiently."
